A personal notebook, kept mostly for my own benefit.

I photograph on film because the delay suits me. A roll takes a month to finish and a week to come back, and by then I have forgotten what I thought I was taking. What survives that gap is usually better than what I intended.

Equipment

• A 1970s rangefinder with a 40mm lens, bought second-hand and repaired twice.
• A medium-format folder that works when it feels like it.
• HP5 and Tri-X, developed at home in whatever is still in date.
• A flatbed scanner that is slower than the postal service.

About the site

Static pages, no tracking, no analytics, no comments. Written in a text editor and copied across by hand. If something is broken it will stay broken until I notice.
